Women in Iran Taking Off their Hijab Why?
It just started on Saturday, when protest started in west part of Iran with Iranian women publicly taking off their hijabs over the death of Mahsa Amini. She was captured by Morality police for wearing the hijab in improper manner, as she was reportedly not covering her hair. She was then assaulted in the police van while being driven to a center.
Many videos started emerging and doing rounds in the social media showing protester shouting anti-government slogans as they gathered in Saqqez (Hometown of Mahsa Amini). She died in hospital in Tehran.
A Vocal Iranian Journalist and activist, Masih Allnejad, wrote on Twitter, “Women in Iran removed their headscarves in protest against the murder of Mahsa Amini by Hijab police. They were chanting death to dictator. She was calling everyone in the world to show solidarity for Iraninan women.
